Manifest
Spring 2019, I announced the end of Commune de Paris production and the hibernation of the brand born in 2009. In a few years, the world has changed. Current events have woken us up. And we missed you.
After a necessary period of hibernation, we are back stronger! With Hugo Bentz and myself at the helm. We have changed too but we keep our values and our character. More conscious, more eco-responsible, more open, more independent, more accessible and always this desire to democratize access to a creative and well-made wardrobe.
A founding act of French social history, the Commune of 1871 remains a political horizon for today's rebels and an insurrectionary imagination for romantics. In our eyes, it constitutes a limitless inspiration and a universe imbued with humanist and universal values.
The values associated with the fashion industry no longer suited us. The frantic race for creation, meaningless calendars, overproduction and inherent pollution got the better of us. But like the phoenix rising from the ashes, it is based on a more virtuous model, we are boldly returning to offer you stylish, healthy and sustainable clothing.
We will not densify the Amazon, nor save the dolphins, but we will commit to being the cleanest brand possible. With our means, our R&D. By staying in our rightful place: offering you a reasoned wardrobe that is not devoid of pleasure and meaning.
We will not offer you the perfect garment or the ideal wardrobe. Because as you know, it does not exist. We will submit to you our vision, our style, our graphics, our materials. Sometimes we will ask for your opinion. Sometimes not.
We will not use the vein of unnecessary over-transparency, nor fall into immoral greenwashing.
With over 10 years of experience, we will confidently use our best know-how to satisfy your uniqueness, your curiosity, your taste for creative and humble fashion while pledging our conscious vision of environmental and human respect.
